Chupi Char, Purbasthali
Purbasthali region is steeped in history and religion. With towns like Nabadwip and Mayapur within 15 kms. and temples and ruins of history’s landmark events scattered throughout the region. It is the best bird watching spot in Southern Bengal.

Room & Cottages
A beautiful landscaped park with lodging options for tourists were created beside the lake by the joint effort of the Office of the Executive Officer (BDO) – Purbasthali II, the members of the local Hero Club and Kasthashali Gram Panchayat. Presently, the tourist facility here has 4 Garden cottages, 2 Mango Orchard Cottages and 4 mango orchard rooms. All rooms are located beside the lake. A children park and a watchtower has also become operational lately.

Daily Dinner & Breakfast
Our tariffs include lodging with dinner and breakfast before check-out. Dinner served is chicken thali and breakfast is generally Bengali. All food is cooked in our own kitchen and served in the dining hall.
Tea, Water, & Snacks
We have electric kettle in all our rooms. Tea is also supplied with breakfast. If you need evening snacks, then place order with the caretaker after your booking is confirmed.
Lunch Upon Request
Cost of lunch is not included in our tariffs but available on pre-booking. As many of our guests undertake sightseeing and cannot return during lunch hours, so we have kept lunch cost out of our tariffs.

Boat Ride
The caretaker can assist you with the booking of the boat ride. We have the best boatmen for bird-watching affiliated with us. Boat ride charges are hourly basis and payable to the boatman directly.

We can make arrangements for bonfire & barbecue. After booking, ask the caretaker. Barbecue arrangements are made locally on prior request only.

How do I book the rooms?

What are the Cancellation rules?
- Pre-payment for accommodation on all bookings is compulsory.
- Cancellation request received 10 days prior to arrival, will be refunded at 90% on the total billed amount.
- Cancellation request received 6-9 days prior to arrival, will be refunded at 75% on the total billed amount.
- Cancellation received 3-5 days prior to arrival, will be refunded at 50% on the total billed amount.
- Cancellation received 48 hours prior to arrival, NO REFUND will be allowed.
- During the stay or on arrival, if part cancellations are requested, NO REFUND will be allowed.
Transport & Pickup arrangements
Yes, our caretaker can make arrangements for local sightseeing in toto. Charges are payable on spot. If you take your own vehicle, he will guide you about the directions. You can also book cars for Nabadwip and Mayapur sightseeing.
The Totos at the Purbasthali Railway Station would bring you to Pakhiralay (around 4 kms). The Totos are available till evening. However, if you want, the caretaker can arrange a Toto for your pick-up from Purbasthali Railway Station.

By Train – There are local as well as passenger trains to Purbasthali Station from Howrah and Sealdah Stations. You can check erail.in for train timings.
By Road (from North Kolkata) – Kalyani Expressway – Jhulonia More (Bansberia) on State Highway 6 – Kalna – Dhatrigram – Samudragarh – Parulia Bazar – Kasthshali Market – Pakhiralay accommodation.
By Road (from South Kolkata) – Cross the Second Hooghly Bridge (Vidyasagar Setu) – Kona Expressway – Dankuni to Gurap via AHI (Durgapur Expressway) – Kalna – Dhatrigram – Samudragarh – at Parulia Bazar – Kasthshali Market – Pakhiralay accommodation.
Arrangements for Boat Ride
Yes, boats can be arranged by our caretaker. The Ghat (boat point) is near to the accommodation area. Boating charges are additional and hourly basis. 4 guests are allowed on every boat. Life-jackets are available with the authorised boatmen.
